A Welcome from the wSTEM President

Welcome wSTEM members and prospects! It is an honor and privilege to serve as your President for 2024. I hope that our organization will empower and provide you with resources and connections to assist you on your journey to accomplish your goals. Historically, women have proven that they belong in the STEM field and have been responsible for countless discoveries that have bettered our world. Unfortunately, women still face numerous challenges within the STEM field and must often overcome outdated biases. I am confident our members can navigate any adversity they should encounter and reach their full potential. The wSTEM leadership team is working hard to ensure our 2024 year is filled with insightful guest speakers, engaging virtual field trips, and community service opportunities to promote girls and women in STEM. I am excited for what this year has in store and hope to see you all at our upcoming meetings.

"Don’t let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity. It’s your place in the world; it’s your life. Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live.”
-Mae Jemison, the first African American woman astronaut in space.
